Hi, I’m Erich, a writer and artist in Brooklyn, New York. I run Erich Nagler Design Studio, specializing in creative writing and visual storytelling.
I am from Dallas, Texas, where I attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I earned my Eagle Scout badge from Troop 42, and a BFA from Parsons School of Design at The New School.
I was previously the global lead art director for Google Doodles (2017–’24). Before that, I was the lead art director at the publishing platform Medium (2014–’17). I was an art director at The New York Times (2012–’14), during Barack Obama’s first and second term.
My first job post-graduation was as a decorator’s assistant. My pronouns are he/him.
